8mm/16mm FILM TRANSFER PRICING
Those magical days of early film making. Here is some valuable information that you might recall: 8mm film has usually a hole-pattern on ONE SIDE of the outer edge. Super 8mm film has rectangular holes, while regular 8mm film holes are perfectly square. If there is a sound track on the film, it is usually a thin light-brown strip on either side of the outer edge. Magnetic sound has a brown strip while optical sound is grey-dark grey and looks like it's part of the celluloid film.
16mm film can have a hole-pattern on ONE or BOTH sides of the outer film edge. The holes are perfectly square. Exception to the rule is Super 16mm film, which has rectangular holes and is simply rare. If there is a sound track on the film, the celluloid has holes are on only one edge and the other side contains the sound strip, which is usually a thin light-brown strip on either side of the outer edge. Magnetic sound has a brown strip while optical sound is grey-dark grey and looks like it's part of the celluloid film.
When you finally find those "hidden treasures" in the attic or basement, you probably find them without any titles or writing on the film itself. We do presume, that everybody would like to have their memories in chronological order. As one of the leaders in the industry, we've developed the "view copy" DVD in 1990 and still offer that process today:

VIEWCOPY:
Our "view-copy" process allows you to select, re-sort and even edit your footage. For the cost of the regular transfer price, you'll receive a DVD which has an imbedded time stamp for every minute, second and frame. Lean back, enjoy the footage and take notes. Each reel will have a number, starting with 1, then 2 and so on displayed on your screen. You'd write down the correct sequence of events...for instance: Reel 1 is Reel 7, Reel 2 is Reel 1, Reel 3 is reel 4 and so on. If you need to eliminate a scene here or there, called editing, write down the time stamp on your note pad, marking the cut-in and cut-out points. Submit your notes to AMS and w'ell re-sort the original file, edit it and make you a new Master DVD or USB. The cost for this additional service is only $45.00 per running hour of your project for a DVD and $60.00 for a USB file.
